Professional Tips for Profitable Photography

It´s not JUST about properties you know!

You have come to this page because maybe you are looking to make a full or part-time career in photography? In ALL aspects of photography! Maybe you are new to photography and looking for a way to get started? Or maybe you are already an established photographer looking for new, exciting and profitable avenues to pursue?

Whatever your background, if you love photography, THIS book is for you!

Have you or are you looking to buy a decent camera, a Digital SLR?

         •     Do you love this hobby or profession and the satisfaction and pleasure that it gives you?

         •     Would you like to make this exciting past-time more of a career?

         •      Would you like to shoot weddings, portraits, kids and all the other exciting stuff?

Whatever the reason you have landed here, if you enjoy photography, you will love this book!

BEAT THE COMPETITION!

If you have never experienced or thought about property photography before, there is probably a reason for that. Most people getting started in the photographic business typically aim for the glamour of wedding, portrait and family orientated photography.

Have a look through your local paper, online or adverts in magazines, directories or anywhere….it is ALL wedding, portrait and family photographers advertising their wares in these particular fields.

What if there was a way of side-stepping these hundreds of other photographers out there to still get these "glamorous" jobs?

By learning a new aspect of photography that not many photographers do, inevitably you will (as I did) end up receiving many, many wedding and portrait commissions in the process, whilst earning good money along the way shooting properties!

Some of the work offers I received were; numerous weddings and portraits, lifestyle shoots, commercial work, and even the chance to shoot stills for a local film-maker.

As an example, look at the strip of images below. The center image is the daughter of a family whose house I photographed. I was asked, if possible, to put together a model portfolio of her for when they move away. I only charged €200 for the shoot (on top of the property photos), but the parents ended up spending over €600 on reprints.

The other shots are from some of the work that I received through my direct involvment in property photography, from celebrity football matches to weddings and lifestyle shoots.

The avenues that open up are endless. You just need to be out there!

  •      I don't know how to shoot properties!

Great! Everything from setting up the camera to marketing yourself is in the book!

  •      It isn't glamorous enough!

Even better! Many photographers battling for the wedding and portrait commissions feel the same, and THAT is why the photographers that shoot properties quietly earn a good living and get plenty of other, non property-related work through their new contacts, dedication and hard work!

  •      How much can I earn?

It is up to you. The harder you work, the more you earn. Personally, I have known people to earn anywhere from €95 right up €1,000 for a single property!

  •      I still want to shoot weddings, portraits and commercial!

Of course! When shooting properties, how many friendly, influential, wealthy and "good to know" people will you meet? How many families will you be in contact with?

The amount of times I have photographed a property and the owners have asked "Do you do weddings too?" or "Could you do a family portrait for us?" or "I have a friend getting married next year"

The amount of extra work I have received through photographing properties with a friendly and professional manner is 100% more than I would have got if I simply set up as a standard photographer and fought for these jobs via the normal route.

  •      I don't have the money!

Don't panic. You can start out in property photography with pretty much the same equipment needed for portraits and weddings, less even.

Not having the money is all the more reason to "get back to school" and START earning. Learning this niche market will motivate and excite you enough to want to get started immediately.

  •      I don't have the experience, confidence or knowledge to do this!

When I had finished writing this very detailed book, I asked my wife (who finds it difficult to just hold my cameras let alone use them), to proof read it. By the end she told me that she actually felt as though she could take my camera gear and go and do the job herself!

Before, when she picked up my camera, she may as well have been holding a Rubik´s Cube! Now, she knew all about F-stops, shutter speeds, lighting, composition and Photoshop. More importantly, how to build a portfolio for nothing, market herself and get plenty of work with confidence and build a very profitable business!

That is more than enough testimonial for me!

The book includes links to a free 260-page photography help site that I have spent the last 8 months building. It includes Photoshop tips, tutorials on how to use a Digital SLR, tips on wedding and child photography and a section on how to make money selling stock photos.

This eBook is written in exactly the same way; concise, informative and very easy to understand, even for beginners.

ANYONE can do this business! These are some of these testimonials from the "beginner" section at the website;

"As a newbie, I learned more from this information than from an e-book I recently purchased that turned out to be more money than it was worth.  Thanks for the great advice!"

Blanka. Canada

"After a quick review of some of your tips, I posted a previous message expressing my satisfaction with the great advice.  Several hours later, having done a rather thorough tour of the site, I felt the need to send another message.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I will try not to bore you but I thought you might like to know why I find your site one of the best out there. I have purchased several how-to books, read many articles and downloaded an e-book (the latter being a huge disappointment - money I could have spent on a new filter).  Then I found your site.  I cannot tell you how much I have learned in the few hours spent at your site. It's clear, well-organized and provides loads of photographic examples to bring points home. Most importantly, I don't need a photographic translator to understand the material.  If you DO decide to put out a Newsletter in future, please sign me up"

Blanka. Canada

"This is such a fabulous help, I cannot express enough how helpful these tips are!"

Louise. UK

"Wouldn't ask you to change a thing. Thank you very much for the tutorial. I purchased a D70 and am trying to re-acquaint myself with the world of f-stops. I haven't played with real cameras since the Yashica I had in Viet Nam in the late 60's. Cheers!"

"Keep on adding more good stuff  especially for newbies like me who have been scared by other forums in saying that a lot of people buy DSLR cameras and return them back because their pic quality is just not there."

Daljit. UK

If they like the website, they will love the book. The two compliment each other perfectly but you won´t find the contents of this book anywhere else. The website is there for support and assistance and should you need further help I have included my personal e-mail address inside the book.

The book and website combined should give you the knowledge and confidence to start as slowly or as quickly as you like, just start!

Plus, once you have a portfolio, you can even request a fully web-optimized, targeted page for your business in the photographer's directory at the website.

Pro Tips for Profitable Photography also has links to equipment review sites, forums and everything you need to get started, and of course, all the support you could need via email.

We all have to start somewhere and by the end of this book, you should be chomping at the bit to get going!

  •      What makes YOU the expert, who are you?

I am a British photographer who has been living in Spain for the last seven years with my wife and 2 children. I have been "a photographer" since I was 13 when I received my first SLR and built my own darkroom. I have been hooked ever since (I am now 38). I trained as an apprentice photographer at 16 for a year, did 4 years at business college and then went it alone. I even exclusively and privately photographed one of Princess Ann´s "walkabouts" along the way!

I have photographed many properties from 1 bedroom apartments to massive villas valued at over €8 million. The experiences you will have and incredible people you meet on the way are priceless! One guy was very happy with my work and just happened to be the editor of a glossy property magazine....free listing for me!

I am a member of the SWPP and BPPA (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and British Professional Photographers Association) and have never stopped studying and learning new photographic techniques.

  •      How much is it?

For me to teach this on a one to one basis "real time" would take about 1-2 weeks depending on the student. Last year I was charging just €35 an hour for very "basic" digital photography lessons and that certainly included nothing as comprehensive as this.

By teaching the lessons in this book for just one week at those reduced rates, the information would be worth about;

7 days  X  8 hours  X  €35  =  €1,960

Even this isn't bad considering the "kick start" it would give your career!

The book is being released at an introductory price of just €12.35 ($14.95) and I would expect you to earn at least 7 or 8 times that from your very first job!

"The Photoshop tips and marketing advice alone were worth the price of this book..

                 ..Thanks" -  Rob Simpson, Marbella
